The Delaunay is an all-day brasserie/cafe in the grand European tradition with a separate Cafe/ 'take-out' section - The Counter at The Delaunay. The Delaunay is located on the corner of The Aldwych and Drury Lane in Covent Garden.
The Delaunay offers an extensive à la carte menu throughout the day, seven days a week, inspired by the grand cafés of Europe. Breakfast is served Monday to Saturday, with a full brunch on Sundays. Traditional English Afternoon Tea is served every day.
The à la carte menu has a wide choice of dishes from platters of crustacea, to salads, and café classics such as choucroute à l'Alsacienne, moules frites and steaks, as well as our special selection of Wieners and Schnitzels. A tempting array of cakes, slices, desserts and ice cream coupes follows. Tables can be reserved in advance but a certain number are always available for 'walk-ins' on the day. Perfectly located for early pre- and late post-theatre meals, bookings are taken up to to 11.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and up to 10.30pm on Sundays.
Younger sibling of the much revered Wolseley, The Delaunay was born in 2011 and has a similar old school, classic vibe. With leather chairs, dark wood panelling and white table cloths, you’ll instantly feel like a VIP upon entrance. Take a moment to chat to the doorman who you can just tell has seen it all! Whether it’s pancakes for breakfast, fillet of Sea Bass for lunch or even a cheeky scrambled egg post dinner, this young gent of a restaurant sparkles with class without becoming overbearingly ‘pawsh’. Scribble on one of their postcards and hand it in after your meal to be sent to the destination of your choosing – here’s a novel service that TTF are all over, we love receiving mail!
