A bar and restaurant with Southern European, Middle Eastern and Ashkenazi influences. Eclectic menu blends European and Middle Eastern dishes in a chill, hip space with a covered patio.
Jago, based in Shoreditch, is the first venture from Louis Solley, formerly at the helm of Islington based, Ottolenghi. This all-day restaurant follows the same basic blueprint as Ottolenghi but with a few modern additions. The menu is focussed on Modern-Southern-European cuisine, with Middle-Eastern and Askenazi influences. Though the menu will be every health-conscious Londoner’s dream with such dishes as the Braised Lamb, Grilled Apples and Sardines and Cured Cucumbers; there are a few naughty extras that will keep everyone pleased, including the Chocolate and Olive Oil Mousse. The wine list heralds from Spain and the south of France, and there is a welcoming selection of fresh and fruity cocktails.
