Ground breaking restaurant concept, tibits, opened its first UK eatery - an all-day, vegetarian restaurant, bar with ‘food to go’ - in October 2008. The food offering in the London outlet, follows in the footsteps of the five phenomenally successful Swiss restaurants.
The focal point of the restaurant, located in the heart of Regent Street’s eating quarter, is a giant food boat containing 40 fabulous hot and cold dishes. Customers can opt for either a plate to eat in or a ‘food to go’ container; either way the food is charged for by weight. Using seasonal ingredients, the menu is influenced by a wide variety of cuisines, from Asian and Indian to Mediterranean.
Relaxed and uncomplicated, guests can enjoy the healthy, tasty tibits menu throughout the day. tibits trades from early morning with coffees, a breakfast buffet and freshly squeezed juices, through to late evening offering an extensive range of cocktails, wines and beers.
Hidden on Heddon Street, Tibits is the lovechild of the Frei brothers who wanted to bring long-forgotten vegetables back into the spotlight. With an empire that spans Europe, Tibits is doing fresh food right. The food is simple but well made, and the menu feels like home, just like mama used to make. The menu changes regularly so there’s always something new to discover and there’s a real laidback feel here too. Stylish yet informal, chunky wooden tables and mismatched wallpapers give the restaurant a really welcoming feel but the Swiss influence keeps things clean. Just how it should be.
