The Duck+Rice is a Soho pub serving Chinese comfort food. Downstairs is a public bar, fronting onto the bustling street market of Berwick Street, that serves bar snacks alongside its beers. Upstairs, there's a sit down dining room with a stand up menu. Defying the trend for craft beers, Alan Yau has searched high and low, to select premium heritage brews, steeped in history and made from the heart by master artisans from around the globe. Soho is London's creative powerhouse and Berwick Street is renowned for its record shops, drawing collectors from all over the Civilised World to these bastions of vinyl. The Duck+Rice thrives on this atmosphere and contributes to this culture, not least by offering a convivial watering hole, but also with its interactive Duck Box. Drinkers in the street level bar can log into this virtual juke box with their smart phones and add their music of choice to the pub's play list.
Unstopable restaurateur, Alan Yau, bring a Chinese gastro-pub concept to Soho. Situated on Berwick Street, right next to his Michelin Star Yauatacha, The Duck and Rice promises to deliver casual Chinese snacks, paired with hand-picked European beer (with Pilsner Urquel taking centre stage). The site is split over two floors - the ground floor being more of a bar area, and the first floor will be The Duck and Rice's restaurant. The menu is divided into multiple sections and include Soups (Crabmeat & sweetcorn; Spicy kimchi & tofu), Salad (Chicken fun pei; ), Canton Roast (Jasmine smoked pork rib), Home Comfort (mainly steak - Rib-eye USDA black pepper beef; Sweet & sour pork; Kung Po Chicken), Curry, Vegetables and more.
