Pitt Cue Co. began life as a trailer on the Southbank in the summer of 2011, before going on to open a permanent spot in Soho in January 2012. The Pitt Cue Co team is driven by award winning Head Chef Tom Adams, Bourbon expert Jamie Berger and experienced restaurateurs Richard Turner and Simon Anderson. The team have created an ever-changing menu, incorporating Southern American BBQ with the quality of British produce. At Pitt Cue Co. diners enter through the upstairs bar and are invited to descend to the basement to the 24-seat dining room. Upstairs, the bar made of stainless steel, is reminiscent of their food truck days. Bar stools with distressed leather seats and painted iron frames line the bar and the windows, concealed with old-fashioned net curtains. Downstairs, small wooden tables and chairs reflect the restaurants simple dining style.
The Pitt Cue Co’s one for the meat-lovers who don’t need much choice to get their fix. The restaurant only seats 30 so you’ll forgive them their very short menu, which in fairness does have daily specials and two types of burgers. Talking of burgers, they’re big here. Piled high and stuffed with ingredients - popular favourites if you can catch them are the brisket and bone marrow, and the pulled pork affairs for around the £6.50 mark. But they’re ever-changing, and that’s part of the fun. For those wanting just straight up straight down meat, there’s that option too and there are irresistible sides along for the ride too.
