JINJUU, meaning “PEARL”, is London’s premier modern Korean food restaurant with celebrity chef, Judy Joo, at the helm. Situated in the trendy Carnaby district in Soho, Jinjuu serves up two different fun and casual dining concepts. The ground floor’s menu focuses on small dishes based on “anju”, which is food that you eat when you drink. Plates such as their signature and addictive Korean fried chicken, bulgogi style burgers, and traditional savory dumplings will take center stage, along side creative soju cocktails and beer. Downstairs showcases more of a full dining experience with large sharing platters and, of course, the much loved and famed Korean barbecue.
The Korean food scene is really kicking off in London and celebrity chef Judy Woo is hot on its heels. Now in her first solo venture, she’s gone full steam ahead with two different dining concepts, both playful, casual and bursting with charm. On the ground floor you’ll find a long bar where cocktails are masterfully whipped up using a combination of known favourites with the more obscure Korean alcohols and the ‘anju’ menu which consists of smaller dishes to compliment the drinks; think sliders, dumplings, prawn lollipops and spicy tacos. Downstairs it’s all about large sharing plates and meatier offerings with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work. ‘Jinjuu’ or ‘pearl’ in Korean is already living up to its name so make sure you don’t miss out on this oriental gem.
