When Parisian-Algerian restaurateur Mazouz arrived in London in 1995, among the first things that he did was look for a place to eat his homely couscous. He couldn’t find any until his Vespa took him to Heddon Street, and at the time it was a dark semi-abandoned walkway located off Regent Street in West end, London... Today Momo encompasses of Music, Food and Visual aesthetics consisting of four spaces: restaurant, café, outdoor terrace and basement bar/ disco including a highly talked about live music program. Kick back, relax and capture the mood of the moment. We are a café and a restaurant, a la Marrakesh-souk-meets-Parisian-troquet style! Savour our traditional Moroccan mint tea whilst sharing our authentic mezze either on our terrace or inside our Mo Cafe...Take a seat on our Momo outdoor terrace and enjoy a sheesha pipe and its flavoured tobacco. Don’t forget to step inside the gem of Mo Cafe before you leave: all items displayed and hanging lamps in the café are on sale; we have some books, CDs and a few Antique jewels too...
Tucked away from the bustle of Regent Street, Momo is a North African institution oozing Bohemian atmosphere out of every crevice. Expect to be treated to a Moroccan taste and sense explosion once you breach the jungle walls and enter this den of delights. Choose from a grand selection of hot and cold Mezze, bursting with flavour and spices. The décor matches the culinary experience and with lanterns glowing and fabrics flowing, you can be taken on your very own spice-ridden adventure. You might even get to experience the live ‘tabla’ drummers and if you feel like continuing your night, wind your way down to the Kemia bar below and place that stiff upper lip to one side. Here’s a sneaky secret that’s well worth the pilgrimage.
