Quite literally across the street from flagship restaurant Pollen Street Social, Jason Atherton has created a heady mix of classic design, with ox-blood banquettes and intimate dining booths, traditional hardwood chairs, and beautiful antique elm tables. Vintage picture frames and old Michelin maps adorn the walls, offset by eclectic neon. With a nod towards some typically French plates, Little Social brings the best of British produce to the table to create dishes such as slow-cooked egg with parmesan and squash soup, roast mushrooms and croutons; pork chop with butternut squash purée, pine nut, pecorino and endive; and goat’s milk rice pudding with rhubarb and ginger jam and jam ripple ice-cream.
Little Social is Michelin starred Pollen Street Social’s little sister. Tucked away behind Regent Street, you’ll find a nod to France in the plates, with comfortingly British ingredients. All dark wood and banquettes, it’s a little less formal than its counterpart across the road with langoustines and terrine to start, followed by pork and truffle sausage or the aged Scottish beef burger with caramelised red onions. As you can imagine from a Michelin starred chef, this isn’t an ordinary burger but one that you’ll be dreaming about for months to come. Of course, the service is brilliant and the dishes perfectly executed, and if you’re on a budget there’s even a prix fixe menu. Decadent dining at its best.
