Located in the heart of Marylebone Village, The Providores is run by co-owners, Peter Gordon and Michael McGrath. We provide both award-winning fine dining, as well as an all day cafe wine bar on our ground floor with one of the best breakfast offerings in London. You’ll also find some of the friendliest service and best coffee on offer! Our menus are driven by creativity, innovation and the use of prime seasonal ingredients.
On the ground floor you’ll find the Tapa Room, our all day restaurant, cafe and wine bar. Yes, we do serve small plates of food, much like Spanish tapas, but it is the Tapa Cloth that we honour with the name. The Tapa room takes its name from the huge, traditional, Rarotongan Tapa cloth that hangs on the wall. Tapa cloths can be found throughout the pacific and are used as either a decorative piece, a ceremonial floor covering at feasts or sometimes as fabric for clothing.
On the first floor is The Providores, the formal dining room, which offers delicious, finely executed dishes in a relaxed yet stylish environment. For dinner Monday to Saturday we have a tasting-style menu in which all our savoury dishes are starter sized, allowing you to choose as many dishes as you wish. This enables you to experience a variety of our dishes in a much more fun format than a traditional starter/main course. On Saturday and Sunday we do our fantastic Weekend Brunch.
Here is fusion food at its finest. Having opened in 2001, The Providores has made its mark. Split across two restaurants; choose between the casual Tapa Room and the more intimate fine dining area upstairs. While the ever-changing menu may cause some raised brows, take a leap of faith and don’t be afraid to ask for a translation if you aren’t feeling so brave. Sharing is definitely caring at this all day experimental eatery where all appetites are catered for. Word on the street is that the desserts are to die for, we see no problem with just going out for pudding!
