Evocative of Vienna in the early twentieth century, Fischer’s is an informal, neighbourhood café and konditorei. It opens early for breakfast and continue. The classic Viennese café menu runs from breakfast to morning coffee, through to lunch, mid-afternoon snacks and a full dinner service. The menu includes an extensive choice of cured fish, salads, schnitzels, sausages, brötchen and sandwiches, strudels, biscuits, ice-cream coupes, hot chocolates and coffees with traditional tortes mit schlag. The wine list is largely mittel-European, with Austrian, German, French Alsatian and Hungarian wines predominating, the majority available by the glass.
Fitting into Marylebone's relaxed, neighbourhood vibe but with a dash of sophistication Fischer's will explore the somewhat overlooked Veneitan cuisine. Diners will be able to tuck in from breakfast until late - providing London-folk with all-day getaway frome the madness that is Oxford Steet. The decor resembles the love-child between new York Central Station and a 1920's Parisian cafe. The cuisine will focus mainly on Modern Austrian cuisine so expect plenty of shnitzel, strudel, and of course sausages. For those non-meat-eaters, there is a full vegetarian menu and brunch is available every day. Something for everyone, it would seem.
