Hubbard & Bell is a cafe, bar and grill in Holborn, Central London, open from early morning until late at night. The all-day restaurant has an open kitchen serving grilled meats, seafood and small plates, in addition to a wide choice of breakfast dishes and a weekend brunch menu. The Hubbard & Bell cafe serves Origin Coffee from a bespoke La Marzocco machine, cold-pressed juices, and baked goods including doughnuts, zucchini breads and bostock. The bar menu offers classic cocktails, homemade shrubs and sodas with an array of snacks, and plays host to DJs from Thursdays to Saturdays.
The newly christened 'Midtown' part of London's looking pretty interesting these days with renegade restaurants popping up all over the place in what used to be seen as a bit of a culinary catastrophe. Hubbard & Bell is an all-singing, all-dancing, all-everything opening serving from sun up to sun down and throwing in some weekend DJs for good measure. Bright and breezy during the day, it's a good spot for catching up with a coffee and tucking into brunch; come evening, the lights are low and the laptops are gone as the cafe makes way for the bar and grill. The all-day menu offers two or three dishes under each section (under pig, there's chop, suckling and ribs for example) and it's nice to see a combination of basic and more adventurous plates in a place where simplicity could so easily have won.
