Offering quality free-range meats sourced from UK farms with high standards of husbandry and welfare. Winner of the 2012 Butcher's Shop of the Year - South of England. The highland farms of the Cairngorm National Park continue to produce some of Scotland's finest beef today and at Meat N16 we are delighted to stock beef that we can guarantee is sired by Aberdeen Angus bulls on the local farms. For centuries, farming and cattle rearing have been an integral way of life in the highlands of Scotland resulting in the skilled and refined production methods that ensure that we are selling some of the finest beef in the world. We hold beef in our shop, and ensure that it is hung for a minimum of 20 days before our butchers prepare it to the standards that we set ourselves, in order that our customers can enjoy one of life's great treats.
Our hams and cooked meats include English honey-roast ham and air-cured hams from Europe as well as seasonal specials, all of which are sliced to order. These are complimented by a full range of charcuterie and cured sausages from France, Italy and Spain including 'Saucisson du Porc', 'Salchichon' and 'Chorizo Iberico'. You'll also find locally-sourced South African biltong. We have a fabulous range of cheeses from Britain and Europe from which we hold regular customer tastings. With so many fine cheeses to select from we review the range regularly so that there is always something new. The fabulous Tom's Pies supply us with a delicious range of meat pies and we also stock pork pies in various sizes from Hartland Pies. Finally, our deli is supplemented by a range of olives, grilled and stuffed vegetables, chutneys, stocks and sauces.
Presented to small classes by one of our experienced butchery team the price of each convivial event includes delicious finger food and a glass of our fine wine (or two after the tricky bits are done). We have a great range of wine in association with our friends at Planet of the Grapes.
Keeping in line with their trendy location, Meat N16 are right up there with the most modern and forward thinking butchers in London. Boasting one of the largest yield of customers (1,000 per week), Meat N16 has all but dominated the butcher scene in this hip part of town. As well as quality ingredients with assured provenance, there are also butchery classes (with wine pairing advice) as well as carving lessons as well as sausage courses, lamb courses, beef courses and bird courses. They have a very informative website that not only supplies recipes but also wine pairing suggestions.
