Chosen Bun is the UK's first specialist gourmet burger delivery service. Sorry – that’s a bit of a mouthful. No pun intended. It's first site has just opened on Fulham road, in London. 13,000 burgers were sold in it’s first three months trading. The founders - Pete Sharman and Andy Shovel have spent a year eating burgers around the world (including a 2 week burger road trip, across USA), perfecting recipes, designing bespoke packaging and raising money to launch. Burgers and sides are delivered in patented packaging, on the back of (considerately ridden!) mopeds. The delivery radius for each store will be approximately 2 miles. Chosen Bun has financial backing from a group of industry-experts. The menu consists of five burgers containing prime, grass-fed Scottish beef (with Welsh Wagyu fat), Chicken and a vegetable-based patty. The business has been built on many minute details being scrutinized and tweaked. 10 types of lettuce leaf were taste-tested, 12 gherkins, 50 chip recipes and over 1000 beef patties. All of these painstaking choices actually led to the name 'Chosen Bun' being conceived. Shovel and Sharman have grand aspirations and envisage operating hundreds of stores; making burger-lovers happy at home, up and down the UK.
Apart from a great name, Chosen Bun’s managed to pull off the impossible: the perfect burger delivery service. No soggy buns or wilted lettuce here, the patented boxes keep your chosen bun in pristine condition until it arrives at your door. Their burgers are touchingly named after friends who’ve helped them along the way, accompanied with a dash of wry humour, and the choice of panko fried mac and cheese bites. Even better, there’s ice cream, wine and even t-shirts on the menu for all your Chosen Bun needs. They’re not delivering everywhere yet so make sure you check before you set your heart on their Shoveman burgers and keep an eye out for when their bikes reach your postcode.
