Gregory Marchand behind the hugely popular Frenchie, Frenchie Wine Bar, Frenchie To Go and the brand new Wine Shop (all in the Rue du Nil in Paris second arrondissement) is thrilled to announce the new restaurant, which will open on Henrietta Street in february 2016. Greg considers London his second home after having spent several long periods in the capital cooking notably at the Savoy, Mandarin Oriental and Fifteen, where the kitchen nickname "Frenchie" stuck. The menu at Frenchie Covent Garden will echo its Parisian counterpart with simple and generous, yet precise dishes heavily influenced by Greg's travels from London to New York through Spain and Hong Kong. It will also host an ever-changing, carefully selected wine list and seasonal cocktails.
The much lauded Frenchie has crossed the Channel and set up shop in Covent Garden, so you don’t have to travel far to get the Marchand treatment. The menu’s pretty similar to its big sister with dishes such as duck foie gras with rhubarb and beetroot, and pork cooked in a salt crust served with grains, but a focus on French cheese (the Parisian outpost showcases UK cheese). Looking for a deal? There’s a three course lunch menu for £28 and the five course tasting menu with wine pairing comes in at £100. Sante!
