In our restaurant we offer Japanese drinking food, delivered in a relaxed environment and featuring DIY filled steam buns: we have a variety of meats and fish that are all cooked and served different ways, with a different sauce or marinade and a different pickled vegetable. These then arrive with lettuce and sliced cucumber, so you can custom build your bun the way you like it. All flesh portions are designed to fill roughly 4 buns.
We play classic Rock and Roll, same as at our sister restaurant Bone Daddies, but try to keep it in the background so it isn’t too loud. We are trying to show Londoners that Japanese has many cult-like subcultures, so while at Bone Daddies we have a collage of Rockabillies, at Flesh and Buns our bathrooms are covered in censored Hentai Manga.
Our drinks follow the same ideas as our food, and our Yuzu/Lime Frozen Margarita is one of our signature cocktails. We offer a unique sake list that hopefully allows people to explore one of the great drinks of the world in a non-challenging way.
Perhaps not the most appetising of names but at least, pretty descriptive, Flesh & Buns is an izakaya restaurant. Traditionally, izakaya dens serve food to accompany the drinks but don’t worry, there are no paltry portions here. Instead, snack on plump sashimi before diving into their specialty - pillowy buns that you stuff yourself with tasty meat (we like the piglet belly best). They do great express menus for those in a rush, but make sure you leave room for the do it yourself ‘smores and melt marshmallows to your heart’s content.
