Barrafina is a modern Spanish tapas bar owned and operated by restaurateurs Sam & Eddie Hart. There is another site on Soho's Frith Street. Barrafina opened in July 2014. It is the second Barrafina to open in London by restaurateurs Sam & Eddie Hart. The original is on Soho's Frith Street. This second corner site is on Covent Garden’s Adelaide Street and comprises of a long marble top bar, 29 stools and a state-of-the-art open kitchen.
Barrafina’s menu is made up of contemporary and traditional tapas from all the regions of Spain. Some of the more traditional dishes have been brought up to date by Executive Head Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho, while some of the more simple dishes remain true to their origins. Barrafina’s philosophy has always been to take the best raw ingredients and prepare them with minimal fuss. Nieves sources the finest produce available from Spain and the British Isles and her celebrated specials board, which changes twice a day, is written around the seasons.
Barrafina’s wine list is concise, listing something for all tastes, with a strong emphasis on sherry. There are also a number of wines, available by the glass, poured from magnums that have been specially bottled for Barrafina. These magnums are not only fabulous to look at, but in some cases the quality of the wine is improved. There is also a selection of Spanish cervezas and spirits available.

Now this is how to tapas. Barrafina is the second installment from the purveyors of quality Spanish cuisine Sam & Eddie Hart. Their first offering, the Michelin Star Barrafina in Soho, has won plenty of acclaim and their Covent Garden outpost, Barrafina Adelaide Street, is likely to follow. Enjoy both modern and classic tapas dishes from a multitude of regions across Spain. The large windows give this branch of Barrafina a very lively and welcoming feel - helped in no small part by the incredibly friendly staff; and perpetually smiling chefs, at work in their open kitchen. With food this good, Barrafina is a great location for any occasion; and with a menu this well-rounded, all dietary requirements will be covered. The hand-picked wine list pays tribute to fantastic wine the Spanish are famous for, and the cocktail list will surely please those looking for a great drink and small bite to eat before a night out in Central London.
