Sosharu is an izakaya-style restaurant serving casual yet refined Japanese cuisine, using ingredients inspired by the turning British seasons. Created by Jason and Irha Atherton in Collaboration with Executive Head Chef Alex Craciun, Sosharu delviers beautifully crafted and authentic dishes dedicated to different Japanese specilaties, including temaki, hibachi grill, yaki grill, tempura and sashimi. We work closely with producers to deliver the freshest ingredients, allowing you to explore the natural landscape in each dish. Downstairs at Sosharu is 7 Tales, a cocktail bar reminiscent of the night-time atmosphere of Tokyo.
Japanese for ‘social’ (see what Atherton’s done there?), Sosharu takes up residence in the old Turnmills Building. The days of raving might be gone but there’s still a lot of fun to be had with small plates to share courtesy of Head Chef Alex who’s spent the last year in a Kyoto Culinary School. Of course you’ll find your favourites on the menu, having been given the modern Social Group flair, and there’s also a daily changing tasting menu where they shake things up a bit. Don’t forget to try the cocktails in the basement bar - they’re the brainchild of the guy behind Happiness Forgets & Experimental Cocktail Club so definitely not to be missed.
