Bibendum Restaurant and Oyster Bar is housed in Fulham's Michelin Building, and serves timeless French classics and modern British favourites.
Bibendum is named after Michelin’s portly mascot Monsieur Bibendum who, in turn, takes his name from the latin phrase Nunc est Bibendum, ‘Now is the time to drink’. Dining at the Restaurant is a visual feast as well as a treat for the tastebuds. During the day, light streams through the spectacular stained glass windows, and the high-ceilinged Restaurant buzzes with reassuring activity. Comfy chairs and well-spaced tables add to the feeling of space. The evening brings with it a sense of elegance and glamour, and the right combination of welcome, attentiveness and professionalism has been honed to perfection over the Restaurant’s 28-year history. Dining at the Restaurant always feels like a special occasion. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, offering an a la carte menu Monday to Saturday and a prix fixe menu on Sunday.
Named after Michelin’s rather rotund mascot, Bibendum’s Oyster Bar is a seafood lover’s paradise found in the famous former tyre factory on Fulham Road. There’s a great selection of simple seafood done well but if you feel like pushing the boat out, order the plateau de fruits de mer to share: crab, langoustine, Atlantic prawns, oysters, brown shrimps, winkles, whelks and half lobster. Sit outside in the spring/summer sun and pick up a fresh catch from the crustacea stall outside afterwards to prolong that beachside feeling.
