Brixton: 5 Minute Walk

Seasonal and inventive. Those are the two guiding principles of what we cook at Salon. There's a strong focus on British ingredients, some of which are even grown, produced or foraged in and around Brixton. You'd be amazed at how much produce there is to be sourced in South London.
In the evenings and at weekends we serve a four course Set Menu for £29 per person, where the chefs decide what the diners are going to eat. Seasonal & inventive is the only brief: we're guided by the seasons, our travels, our experiences and what's around us. The set menu is our thing - the real Salon experience, but if you just fancy popping to share a few plates too, that's also fine.
The ethos at Salon is all about ‘Seasonal and Inventive’. Like others on my list, Salon pride themselves in sourcing ingredients that have been grown, produced or foraged in and around Brixton. Their main feature is their set menu, where for £29 per person, you set yourself up to be dazzled by what the chef decides to whip up on any specific day. The brief given to them, of course, is seasonal and inventive. Examples include; Aparagus broth with wild garlic, tortellini, peas and broadbeans, Swaledale lamb with Jersey royals and sea vegetables followed by dill ice cream with apple, sorrel and rye. Its focus on good local produce (which you can also buy on the ground floor) has set this venue up to be a prominent leader in Brixton’s culinary department. The food isn’t cheap, however it’s a favourite for special occasions and an extremely memorable meal.
